Edelman Fossil Park and Museum at Rowan University is an immersive museum experience designed to transport visitors 66 million years back in time to discover the days of the dinosaurs, as well as teach about the present and future.
The Mantua, New Jersey museum features full-scale dinosaur sculptures, an interactive fossil scavenger hunt, free-roaming virtual reality, and live animal exhibits. Outdoors, visitors can have a hands-on experience finding fossils in the quarry, observe paleontologists in active research and enjoy the dinosaur-themed playground with accessible features. Guests can also experience a 15-minute, virtual reality dinosaur encounter.
Smart Monkeys, alongside longtime collaborators Kubik Maltbie, contributed the control programming for the museum’s AV systems, and provided an automated solution to their day-to-day operations for ‘Start of Day’ and ‘End of Day’ procedures. Smart Monkeys also provided system monitoring capabilities for easy troubleshooting for the EFP AV Team.
“Edelman Fossil Park is a great reminder of why we do what we do. It truly puts a smile on my face to see and be a part of something that brings education and joy to many people and families for years to come” said Smart Monkeys Project Manager Cambry Wade. “Plus, who doesn’t like a good dinosaur museum?”
Guests can unlock interactive exhibits using their “Explorer Key”, which allows you to scan and track your progress.
EFP has something for everyone, whether you want to watch scientists study real fossils, experience dinosaurs in VR, or dig up your own fossil!
This interactive park and museum is now open for visitors, showcasing the hard work of creative and technical teams across many industries. Smart Monkeys is proud to contribute to important educational and cultural resources like EFM.
